Chairwoman of the Board @ Acts 20:35 Foundation

Chairwoman of the Board @ Acts 20:35 Foundation

As Chairwoman of the Board for the Acts 20:35 Foundation I lead with a servant’s heart, guided by the biblical principle from Acts 20:35: β€œIt is more blessed to give than to receive.” As the highest-ranking member of the board, I am responsible for steering the organization toward its mission of fostering generosity, compassion, and service. I oversee governance, provide strategic direction, and champion the foundation’s vision to transform lives and communities through faith-inspired service and giving with a deliberate focus on women and children.

My Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Governance: I preside over board meetings, ensuring effective decision-making, adherence to bylaws, and alignment with the foundation’s mission and Christian values.
  • Strategic Vision: I collaborate with board members and the executive team to develop and refine long-term strategies, setting goals to expand outreach, support the needy, and promote a culture of generosity.
  • Oversight: I monitor the foundation’s financial health, program effectiveness, and compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Advocacy & Representation: I serve as the primary spokesperson, representing the Acts 20:35 Foundation to donors, partners, and the public, amplifying its mission through community engagement and partnerships.
  • Board Development: I recruit, mentor, and evaluate board members, fostering a diverse, committed team that reflects the foundation’s values of love, humility, and service.
  • Fundraising Support: I partner with the executive director and development team to cultivate donor relationships, secure funding, and drive initiatives that sustain and grow the foundation’s impact.
  • Mission Alignment: I ensure all activities and decisions reflect the biblical foundation of Acts 20:35, integrating faith, compassion, and practical action to uplift the weak and empower communities.

My Qualifications

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record in leadership roles, nonprofit governance, with a demonstrated ability to guide teams with vision, integrity, and humility.
  • Commitment to Faith: Deep understanding of and alignment with Christian principles, particularly the servant-hearted ethos of Acts 20:35, and a passion for living out faith through action.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to craft and execute strategic plans, balancing long-term vision with practical, measurable outcomes.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication, with the ability to inspire donors, volunteers, and stakeholders while representing the foundation with grace and authenticity.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience overseeing budgets, financial reports, and resource allocation to ensure organizational sustainability.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A team-oriented approach, with a knack for building relationships, mentoring others, and fostering unity in pursuit of a shared mission.
  • Education: 8 degrees (so far) in healthcare administration, public health, chemistry, education (2), theology, missions, kinesiology, and Christian leadership (doctorate anticipated May 2026), providing a solid foundation for leadership of faith-based organizations.

As Chairwoman, I lead a mission-driven organization rooted in the transformative power of giving. My leadership shapes the Acts 20:35 Foundation, bringing hope, resources, and Christ’s love to those in need, while leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and service.

Press release coming soon:

β€œAbuse in the workplace isn’t always loud or obvious,” said local resident Sarah Grunblatt. β€œIt’s the quiet pain of getting the worst schedule after bravely (and fearfully) reporting harassment or wrongdoing. It’s the soul ache of having your voice silenced by being left out of meetings or criticized over every small detail until you are beaten down and feel you have no choice but to leave. This kind of psychological harm slowly breaks the heart and spirit of our workers who are simply trying to earn a living and give back to our incredible state.

I’ve even experienced it myself. At multiple organizations. We all deserve so much betterβ€”we deserve to be valued and cared for. A reciprocal relationship of understanding, collaboration, and contribution. Every employee everywhere deserves respect and to be treated with basic humanity. We are not disposable. People are always the most important asset to any institution, and it feels like our culture has completely (willfully?) forgotten that.”
